Just for the record...I ran into something similar a few days ago
and found a workaround.

I was doing a demo of TortoiseSVN to a new programmer and
I (stupidly) checked "Save authentication" on my username/
password, which caches my details instead of his.

Solution: Temporarily change my details in repository passwd
(we use ra_svn) try an update, which fails and asks for username/
password, so we entered his and then reverted my passwd back.
