Is this Nero express? Though even that has always given me detailed
errors in the log. What text does it give, as it might seem competely
useless to you, but not to us. My best guess is that its failing to
read files because they're in use by subversion.

Are you burning a live copy, bdb or fsfs? It's always recommended to
not burn an active copy but a safe copy. Best way to do this is with
the tool that comes with the CLI svn, svnadmin, and the hotcopy
command.
