modify local address for svn:external

Hi,

I'm not sure if this problem is tortoisesvn specific or not, please
let me know if I should post this on the subversion users list.

I have a repository that I would like to download via https (because
my stupid proxy breaks http requests), but the svn:externals are set
to http. I can relocate the subdirectory in my local copy, and update
just that directory, and that works; as soon as I go back to the root
and update, it changes it back to http and then fails.

Is there a way of preventing the root update from making that change?
Or is there a way of getting past the following error due to the
proxy:

Error REPORT request failed on '/repos/asf/!svn/default'
Error REPORT of '/repos/asf/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request
(http://svn.apache.org)

I'm trying to get cocoon trunk from
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/cocoon/trunk

The servers in question happily serve through https.

Don't really fancy tunnelling this stuff through my machine at home!

Cheers,

Ben Pope
