Actually I already have that program - it's our customized version of
TortoiseSVN. It works for my users, because I devoted some time to do
that customization. I just thought such option could be beneficial for
other users who can't or don't want to mess with the TortoiseSVN code.

I am aware that the proposed solution isn't ideal and it has it's own
drawbacks as you pointed out above. For me and my users, danger of
updating before lock are much less important that possible conflicts.

Committing after unlock is just another way of preventing conflicts. It
doesn't interfere with the unlock after commit option, it sort of
complements that functionality.

Anyway, that was only a suggestion.
