My command line tests were both tortoiseplink and plink, it seemed
like that would be fair.

When I tried using plink as the external ssh program, plink popped up
it's dos window, and I never saw a password prompt. Typing into the
dos window had no effect, and killing it resulted in a TSVN
error. (something reasonable about the process unexpected dying)

unfortunatly, this is one of my contractor's machines, and I won't
have access to it before next thursday.
