I installed the 64-bit version on XP 64-bit (yes, I'm afraid the place I
work is still stuck in the XP dark ages).

Immediately after rebooting and logging in, before I did anything, I had a
popup alert:

TSVNCache.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x0200e614" referenced memory at "0x0200e614". The
memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program

I then went to check the version number (is it deliberate that it still
says 1.6.99 rather than 1.7 beta?):

  TortoiseSVN 1.6.99, Build 21709 - 64 Bit, 2011/02/22 16:21:33

and while the About box was still on the screen I got another popup:

TortoiseProc.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x025de614" referenced memory at "0x025de614". The
memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program

Clicking on OK removed the popup, but the about box was still there.
Closing the about box then produced the same popup again.
