So, did you specifically choose Paypal Singapore to contract with, or
was that done for you by Paypal's system? Essentially by reading
Paypal's responses it appears to have been a change in Singapore law
that caused the problem, and it only affects people contracted with
Paypal Singapore. However, if you did not select which subsidiary
processes your money, that can strengthen your case a bit.

Of course, couldn't you argue that you are providing a service
(developing software) for which people are paying a voluntary fee? Much
like shareware.... Lawyers are paid to play word games and find
loopholes, and I'm sure they would come up with something like that.
