All right. False alarm. Sort of. The latest nightly also stops eating CPU after a while. The unresponsive explorer on first start is still there though. It looks like there is some heavy disk IO when I open a folder containing a lot of big working copies, and that explorer stops responding during that burst of disk activity. When the IO stops, explorer comes back to life again. This only happens right after the install as far as I can see. Could be that it has always been this way, but that I haven't noticed it until now. But it isn't a particularly nice feeling when explorer stops responding for 10-15 seconds...
