repo troubles

Hi,

Committing to the 1.6.x branch, especially the doc/po folder currently
doesn't work.
So Lübbe, if you want to merge changes from trunk to the 1.6.x branch,
that's not possible right now. But before you open a complaint, I've
already done this:
