1. The update can be finished long before the process exits (i.e.,
there's also the time it takes the user to click the "OK" button to
dismiss the dialog after the update - and if the user doesn't care
about the open dialog and doesn't click soon, the process doesn't
exit)
2. An exited process doesn't tell anything whether the update was
successful or not.
