I think that we should avoid changing meaning on colors only. There needs to be some other kind of difference to the icons to differentiate them from each other. Maybe the nested icon could point downwards? Or perhaps have a different shape of the arrowtail or arrowhead?

I like the look of the turtle! Very nice looking and good perspective! But it might be a bit far away from the logo..?

I also think that the dropshadow is far too dark. It provides to little separation to the actual turtle. Try making it a *lot* brighter or maybe even removing it alltogether?

Personally I think these icons are a bit too busy. I'd perfer a little more "simplistic" icons.

 

It's also important that the icons look good in all the different resolutions that they are used in, and that they fit the style of the majority of the "core" icons that are in use today.
