Connection Closed Unexpectedly

Connection Closed Unexpectedly when doing SVN update to svn+ssh URL
using the GUI only. The command line version using TortoiseProc.exe
works fine.

This command works (the files updated, with no errors):

     TortoiseProc.exe /command:update "/path:c:\mydev"

This does not work (files not updated, returns "connection closed
unexpectedly" error):

File Browse to c:\mydev, then right click, and select Tortoise:
SVN update

Using release 1.6.2 and also tried with 1.6.99.16605.

Any thoughts or ideas what is different between spawning the update
the 2 different ways?
