Same phenomena here with 1.6.0 release. "not able to see the log" in my
case means: After noticable long data fetching, the log pane semmes to
be filled with some thing but quickly overridden with blank lines.
In my case, an upgrade to the newest nightly yesterday
"TortoiseSVN-1.6.99.16117-dev-win32-svn-1.6.0-dev" help. Now data fetch
time and log display is back to normal (blame not tested yesterday in my
office). I could not remember if there was a log cache reset involved.
