OK. However, does all code have to conform exactly to those standards or
is a pragmatic approach appropriate here?

That would be helpful, as well as clarifying the help text for each item.
Perhaps a status bar could be added to the dialog with a bit of
explanatory text as each context menu item is selected, like a normal
Windows application.
