Hi Oto,
very often the German (and other) translation has
more lines than the English, because German needs more words to explain the same
thing. When we are just talking about GUI elements, the German translation will
be short (one line) too. When we are talking about hint texts, we often
rephrase/reformat things, so we need more lines than the English
original.
The newline count comparison between original and
translation does not tell us much really. It is a hint, but not a
rule.

Other thing if make sense to test line count.
Normally I would except there no reason for test line count as most of
dialog change its size properly.
Question is if English has just one line
translation may have two (and in witch cases). Also if there is just "one"
such case, it may be good mark all eve one would be false positive. What you
think about ?
