First off: I am not one of the doc translators, so these remarks may be off.

Would it reduce the amount of work for translators if the English docs are
tested & fixed first and translations are held back until the docs
stabilize?

Say take a week to proofread the different English versions of the docs &
fix any layout glitches and then signal the doc translators to pick up
again?
