The GPL has a clause fore mere aggregation.

I don't think that there is anyone here who doesn't recognize the need to be compensated for the work.
It is just that software bundling has a _really_ bad rep. Moreover, it doesn't really matter what the software is.

What about making the download through a pay gateway? Instead of hitting the exe immediately, you would have to pay ~15$ (CC, PayPal) to get to it.
People would still be able to go to the exe (or use the source), but it should encourage payment.
