I wouldn't call it dubious. I've checked a lot of resources about them.
They seem genuine enough.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't knock on my door anymore. After they did that
twice on a saturday morning at 6 a.m (!!) I made sure they would *never*
come back. Not sure if it was my yelling at them or my morning
hairstyle, but they were really frightened :)
