I was comparing IrfanView with the shopping toolbar, but I had
forgotten that IrfanView offers to install Google Toolbar, which I
guess was your point.

I would not stop using IrfanView, but I have to say I really don't
like it doing that, especially as it is checked by default.

Apart from being annoying it looks like an endorsement of the product.
