Well, I was actually thinking in the same direction --
instead of spending resources on
adding enhancing build-in graph code, why not just dump data into CSV
and let Excel/OpenOffice draw it with all the power they have?

To do this without loosing current functionality, I think the logical way is to
separate graph drawing tool.
This comes to balance between amount of work needed to write such exporter
against a work on the built-in graphing.

Anyway, this was just a wild idea, feel free to ignore it of course.
