O.k. auto-configure may not be appropriate for the average user.
So, lets drop the "auto-" part of it.

Bad day, he? ;)

Yes, there will be "unknown" tools. But in my proposal (see last port),
there will be no change for their users: They will still be able to
(and have to) configure it manually.
