You could use the description text which is shown in the explorer status
bar while you hover over the menu items :)

I just spent the last three hours trying to figure this out. I have no
idea why this happens.

That's not quite correct: if you install TCVS on a clean Win2k machine,
it suffers from the same problem.

I think it's not because of the folder background but because for that
particular context menu, the explorer sets our menus at the very top
instead of in between other entries as in e.g. the direct folder/file
context menu. But still, I don't know why this happens.

So I 'reverted' the menu back to the same as we now use for Vista for
Win2k too. It's working now, and since we now also provide 12x12 icons
for the context menu, they don't look that ugly anymore as before when
we simply resized the 16x16 icons down to 12x12...
