for some reason, i was exepcting to see the file information...

on a side note, can someone point me to the location for logging information
for svn access...

They're in db, but this is not CVS so don't expect to see readable files.

The subversion docs tell you all about how to create both types of
repo, and how to use a dump/load cycle to convert between them if need
be.
