Just FYI: that example you posted here is used in the progress dialog,
after an operation has finished. The first string is the one you see
currently after an operation has finished. Something like "123 kBytes
transferred". The second string is the time it took for the operation to
complete. Together you then get:

123 kBytes transferred in 2 minute(s) and 34 second(s)
