Well, there will be three images available. As you point out below it's
not a very good idea to simply display them side by side.

I assume you mean "only display two images at a time"?

I guess that would call for an alpha slider as well as buttons. But I
think allowing overlaying of the comparison image over each of the
original images in the two pane view sounds like a good first step,
since we already have support for overlaying in that class.

How to handle it in the overlap-view is still an open question then.

(Again assuming "display concurrently" instead of "have".)
Absolutely. That's why I raised the question on the list.
