My suggestion was more on how to implement it without having to touch
the 261-issue. (Since I assume that fixing the 261-issue means swapping
the list control currently used with something else, and I do not know
of any suitable replacement.)

Rainer, however, did have some suggestions regarding conditional
settings. Maybe those suggestions could be integrated in 261, but I fear
that it will be very hard to design a GUI for that kind of
flexibility... If we want that, I think more discussion is needed on how
it would work.

PS. Still thinks implementing lock-icon-exceptions the way I described
is a good idea. (Given issue 261 does not get expanded too much.) DS.
