Well, I do, but perhaps other users do not.
I often use message history to avoid re-typing similar commit messages.
So, if I notice error and edit one of them to fix it I would like fixed version
to appear in history.
Perhaps it is better to replace old message in history with the new one?

Sorry for not being clear. I meant the middle pane of revision log dialog.

OTOH, the option you mentioned is also interesting one -- if not for
log messages, then may be for authors?
