Since zipping and restoring it from the zip file doesn't 'work' to
reproduce the flickering:
* how did you restore the WC when you brought it home from work?
* check the file/folderdates of the original WC and the one restored
from the zip file.

My guess is that there's something going on with the file/folderdates
which confuses the cache.
