Lost Commit Log

Greetings Everyone,

In case a commit fails for any reason, the log one entered in the Commit
dialog is gone and will have to be retyped, if not saved already.

It would be nice if there was some way of automatically preserving the
text, perhaps by caching it to disk and then restoring it in the Commit
dialog automatically on the next invoke if the last one failed?

PS I am not on the mailing list, so just mail me directly and cc the
list.
