Did you notice that "Compare with Base" is in bold letters while
"Revert" is not? That tries to tell you that "Compare with Base" is
the default action for modified files, while revert is not for
added files.

So I suggest you double click the selected file to diff it or
use the cursor keys to select one and Enter to diff it. This is
both faster than right-clicking and safer.

With 1.4.x, added files are diffed agains an empty file on double click or
enter, although the context menu stays the same. Maybe it would be a good
idea for right-clickers to have a "Compare" entry there, too.
