Taking Issue 45

Hi @dev!

As the days just started getting shorter and
with the 64 bit port got finished, I was thinking
of taking "log caching" as my next project.

My design efforts are initially targeted on
the storage layer and I think I already solved
some of scalability issues. The goal is being
able to handle KDE.org-sized repositories
within reasonable time and space. But it is
surely a very complex matter (e.g. following
renames etc.)

Target would be 1.5.0 (spring 07?).
Any objections?
