Lock overlay missing?

Hi All,
        I'm just trying to establish if there's an issue with my
install/setup, or if the lock icons are simply not being displayed when
a needs-lock file is locked. I noticed this last week on an artist's
machine (using a fairly recent nightly build). I'm using 1.4.0, Build
6579 32bit running on XP SP2.

There's nothing that to my knowledge could be stealing overlay slots
from TSVN (the locked overlay is the only one missing). Currently, the
observed behaviour is that the grey read-only overlay remains even after
the lock is acquired.

Any ideas?
