They do! The automatic windows update is on by default for XP Home (XP
Pro is different). And if you don't visit the 'security center' yourself
to change the setting, it will even download and install those updates
automaticall. And worse: it will even reboot automatically after
installing those! (Yes, I've learned that the hard way: my 'server'
where I run the nightly builds had XP Home installed. One day I wondered
why they wouldn't run and found that it had rebooted automatically
*during* a build because of such an update).
