Explorer/TortoiseSVN x64 Crash

From: James Slaughter <slaughter_at_acm.org>

Hello,

I've been using the experimental 64bit build from
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/files/documents/406/29174/TortoiseSVN-1.4.0.0-x64-svn-1.3.0.msi

Earlier today, Explorer crashed after I copied a directory tree
containing some new files (about 1300 of them) into an existing working
copy. There was an access violation reading location 0x000000000044006a
from the the code at 0x10018217 in TortoiseSVN.dll (the DLL was loaded
with a base address of 0x10000000). I'm mentioning it because for the
most part the x64 build has been working well, and this problem seems
unlikely to be a 64bit-specific issue (but what do I know?).

I saved a minidump (66kB; I'll post it on request) in case anybody wants
to investigate further. I was unable to do so as there don't seem to be
any debug symbols for the above build on the website (though there are
sets of pdbs for the 1.2.4.4479 builds).

FWIW, when I tried to build a copy of TortoiseSVN, I got stuck. Are the
instructions missing an important step like 'download the svn source and
extract it to <somewhere>'? I couldn't figure out where 'somewhere' was
supposed to be in order to keep the build script happy; 'common' didn't
seem to be it, and neither did an 'svn' directory alongside common. It
was late, so I gave up.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
James.
