The first time the Recovery Bin (Executive Software) was working
overtime so I repeated the process, loading (waiting waiting) and made
sure the folder was being ignored by Recovery Bin.
The Invalidate... messages still occur.

I'm very keen to see this through, for TortoiseSVN to be responsive and
clean, hence the effort.
Hopefully it's getting close.
