I believe there is a misunderstanding. The bug is that TMerge counts
the deleted lines but does not display the line numbers for deleted
lines. See attachted screen shot.

The correct behaviour (as I see it) would be to count and display the
line numbers for deleted lines for the old file and skip them for the
new file. TMerge already counts them correctly but does not display
them for the old file. The deleted lines are still there in the old
file (they are only missing in the new file) so you might as well
display the line numbers there.
