The version info takes 2 lines of plain text:
Microsoft Word 2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3)
Windows 2000 5.0.2195 SP4

plain text: about 80 bytes.
PDF file: 123,705 bytes.

If the information is required is plain text, like a version number,
just send the text.

If you need a screenshot to show some problem with the GUI, use
something with a good lossless compression like PNG (and if you need a
free program that can take screenshots easily, try www.irfanview.com).

As a quick test I just captured the same 2 screenshots as PNG files
using irfanview. Word's About box comes in at 15K and SysInfo at 14K.
