Thanks Stefan.

It was very impressive to see how you and the svn devs lept on the
problem and resolved the issue.
Sort of ironic that DUnit (in a very obtuse way) also helped people
solve a problem in C!
I suppose it re-raises the issue for the svn devs about the level of
automated testing for predictable use cases i.e. as in the absence of
author.
A similar scenario arose when the author field was missing from the
parameter list passed to one or more of the svn hook scripts.
