Ah. I'm one of those that does have the binaries (or equivalent) versioned with
the source. I always make a point of doing so because I've been bitten
previously by being unable to recreate them (even using the same source and
compiler and everything!)

Your method achieves the same end but without the problem associated with an
incomplete build. But, conversely, it's not an automatic thing and you have to
specifically add the files to the tag. When I've previously used PVCS on a
rather large project, one thing I learnt was to make everything automatic else
someone would 'forget' and make a mess.

Hmmm. I'll have to give your method a whirl and see how it works out for me.
This is better than retail therapy, sometimes :)
