We are having a big problem with kdiff3: It does not recognize UTF-8 files.
When you set the character encoding to UTF8, it destroys national
language characters in ANSI files without warning. When you set the
encoding to ANSI, it destroys UTF8 files without warning.

WinMerge on the other hand seems to handle this quite nicely.
