It crashes everytime with at least two different copies. One has
modified externals included, one has no externals. I say this because I
know you changed the popup dialog regarding modified externals and it
may/may not be the cause of the error.

One thing, I have noticed with the crash: My commit dialog has
non-default size because I have resized it earlier. The dialog displays
itself in the correct, larger size, but its contents has not been
resized before it crashes. It looks something like the file attached.
It's not an actual screenshot because I don't have access to the machine
that crashes for a few days, so I threw something together in PSP to
show what it looks like. Please don't mind the blue top border - it
looks awful.
