Which HAL do you use?
(What's the name of your PC entry under Device Manager --> Computer.)

If it's not an ACPI HAL, it might help to change to the ACPI version
(provided that your mainboard supports ACPI), since that would likely
give the OS better control over PM. I'm guessing that it's your BIOS
that's being naughty here....

(It might even help to change to a non-ACPI HAL if you're using an
ACPI one, although it sounds more unlikely.. not sure.)
