I installed the nightly about 2 hrs ago (4168) and currently have had no
issues with it. It is certainly keeping icon overlay better than the
previous version.

With a big working copy (boost-1.32.0 source), it does use nearly 10%
processor usage while trawling, but the machine was still fairly responsive.

The only time the cache ever caused problems was when I started another
disk-intensive task such as launching C++Builder or compiling. But even
then it only affects things when it is doing a full trawel which isn't
too often as I never log off or re-boot. (except when I have to).
