[TSVN] Removing v1.2.0 seems to trash Windows Advanced Server 2003

From: Will Stott <will.stott_at_iee.org>

I wanted to remove v1.2.0 so that I could upgrade to v1.2.1 so I used
Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. At the end of the deinstall a reboot
was requested. When the PC restarted it took about an hour to reach the Logon
dialog - most of the time 'applying computer settings'. After logging-on it
took about another hour to reach the desktop, again 'applying computer
settings'.

I suspect the deinstall removed something critical to the Windows Services
Manager. Has anyone else reported a similar problem?
