I appreciate that, and I think it's a very good idea in principle.

If you tell us where to check out the externals (like parallel to trunk)
it's not a problem.

SVN doesn't remember that, does it? From now on I have to remember never
to use Update, but Update to revision, select HEAD, check ignore-externals.

It's not really a big deal for me as I now have broadband at home, so I
will stop making any more noise.
