Apologies, I subscribed to digest by mistake...

So, I tried this recover command but it completed very quickly and I
suspect it did nothing. But, the repository (on Linux) is not Berkeley
DB but rather FSFS and the recover help seems to suggest that recover
only works on the DB. If that makes sense to you.

I dropped the local copy and created another, with the same result. I
then pointed the client back to a test repository that we'd initially
tested our CVS migration with, but still saw a similar error.

Any other suggestions?
