Yes, I did this and this helps somewhat. We hope to upgrage to 1.2
soon, so the speed will not be an issue anymore.

I know that, but that is not a problem in my case.

I think single setting is the simplest and most sensible thing. At
least those who prefer always-on or always-off behaviour will get
their preference automatically.
