As I said: I _think_, but I'm _not sure_.

So you should try the whole thing with e.g. the TSVN working copy. If
you can get it to hang there too, then it doesn't have anything to do
with those svn:external properties. If it doesn't, then that might be a
reason why I can't reproduce the hang and I would need the exact wc
layout you have so I can try to reproduce this.
