[TSVN] Overlays on folders

Hi,

There was some discussion going on about what overlays should be shown
on folders with files/folders in them with added/deleted/conflicted state.

Current situation:
If recursive overlays are ON, then the folder shows an overlay of the
'most important' status of all children. The 'most important' status is
calculated as follows:
none
unversioned
ignored
normal
external
added
missing
deleted
replaced
modified
merged
conflicted
obstructed

That means that if a file got added somewhere below a folder, the
'added' overlay is shown on all parent folders (if no deleted or
modified files are also present in one of the children).

Some people seem not to like that, they just want the folder to show the
modified overlay, no matter what status the children have and only show
the 'added' or 'deleted' overlay if the folder itself was added or deleted.

In some way, you can already have this: just turn off recursive overlays
- then the folders will have the correct overlay. But then you can't see
that somewhere below a folder there's a not-normal status.

So what do you guys think? Should we introduce this 'feature' (recursive
overlays, but only use 'modified' for that)? /me hearing voices about
adding yet another overlay 'not-normal status below'.

Stefan
