It definitely seems so.

It would still be easier to understand if each color has it's own
meaning, and it may in fact be of less importance that the colors are
not 100% distinguishable, because much of the distinction will come
from the text that is highlighted by the colors..

There's also another solution.
How about just making all matched strings have a background color of white?
That way, at least the added and removed parts stand out clearly
(being default red & yellow). This is the way that it's done in eg.
kdiff3, except that kdiff3 won't consider line parts equal if they are
out-of-order, which TMerge will (doesn't always work perfectly though,
esp. wrt. whitespace).

I've attached a third attempt at creating a colour scheme with shades of green.
This one I personally find has much better contrast than the other two.

Could you give it a try one last time and tell me what you see?
